Westboro Gossip: New Shoppers Drug Mart

Word on the street is that Westboro Village is getting a new Shoppers Drug Mart in the new building Westboro Station across from Starbucks on Richmond Road. Also located in Westboro Station I heard will be a pub of some sort and some type of retail store.

We look forward to new businesses developing in that neighbourhood however I do have one big concern - it's parking! In that one block area over the last couple of years I found it's becoming impossible to find a parking spot. I guess it's a good sign that this area is so busy because of the great stores and services, but it would be nice not to have to walk several blocks so you can go grab a coffee, buy a bra or go to a yoga class. I'm hoping with the new businesses being created, that more parking spots will be added.

Do you have concerns about the parking in the area?  Let us know your thoughts and concerns - add a comment.

  1. Just came across this page. I can tell you there will not be any additional free parking made available to SDM customers.

Inside the condo will be a single level for paid parking - which SDM and local area visitors may use.

  2. This disgusts me, the area has already squeezed so many unnecessary businesses in because local yuppy asshole residents want to make it something its not "The place to be." As a long term resident of this area I think we collectively need to rethink current strategies allowing people to be over charged. Case and point, the two new so called "Pubs" are prime examples. They do not have pool tables, dartboards, karaoke or big screen tv sets and likely never will. This is because some corporate prick wants to try changing the definition of pub or sports bar to fit justifying their financial gains from selling poor inauthentic low quality food such as a burger with fries for 14.99, or poorly made sushi improperly made by white, rich, yuppies who more then likely don't even live in the neighborhood.

I bet anyone that these places are just like Whorebucks, and will call the police on homeless people who hang around outside their establishment making it look bad or questionable. Here is a tip for places like "The Works", when someone who actually lives in this area walks in and applies for a job do the right thing, hire them because of karma.
